Storytelling for Change: An Interactive, Hands-On Workshop
Description
Learn how to creatively tell your families' stories to advance progressive social change in our communities. In this, the first in a series of "Storytelling for Change" workshops, participants will use Intentional Justice exercises to explore our identities, the basis of our stories. We'll also identify the multiple ways we can collect, produce, and distribute our stories – independently, or in collaboration with Our Family Coalition.
Workshop leader Jillian Roth – of Mama J Love Consulting – is "a Black queer mama+wife lovingly+patiently raising the emotional quotient of growth-minded mamas, parents, and any citizen of the world armed with love + intent to resist the status quo."
Before coming to the position of Policy & Communications Director at OFC, Polly Pagenhart worked as a teacher trainer, a writer, an editor, a blogger, and a social media conference programmer, and loves helping folks find and raise their voices.
All OFC evening events offer dinner and childcare free, with your advance registration.
We strive to make our programs accessible to all families. Please register for accommodations that would help your family participate to the fullest (e.g. ASL interpreter, translator, childcare providers experienced with kids with disabilities, large print materials, gluten-free food options, etc.). If registering within 48 hours of the event, please call 415-981-1960 to ensure receipt of your request.
