Family Power Happy Hour
Description
Join us, along with our friends from the East Bay Stonewall Democratic Club, for a relaxed family-friendly Saturday afternoon gathering of LGBTQ families and our allies in Oakland's Uptown neighborhood. On tap: schmoozing and strategizing how to amplify our voices and our impact in this fall's critical election season.
About the afternoon: Family Power Happy Hour is an opportunity for you to network with other politically engaged LGBTQ parents and talk mid-term elections while your kids play, draw, and create their own buttons and images of what matters to them. Voter registration and information about upcoming local, state, and national elections will also be on hand. And to kick off the start of the school year in style, EDUCATORS WILL GET A FREE BEVERAGE (with ID).
About the venue: Lost and Found is a spacious, family-friendly, sun-filled outdoor beer garden with extensive beer offerings and a menu of healthy, delicious fare. We'll have a special area set aside for us in the rear of the beer garden.
About East Bay Stonewall Democratic Club: it was founded in 1982 and has provided East Bay LGBTQ community members an opportunity to advance equality through political process and community activism, both generally and via the Democratic Party. It's an all volunteer organization with powerhouse membership, many of whom are parents and caregivers looking to connect around LGBTQ family issues.
Cash bar only; children's activities provided.
Please RSVP today to help us plan accordingly.
