In honor of Native American Heritage Month, join the San Francisco Public Library, Bay Area American Indian Two Spirits, and Our Family Coalition, for Two-Spirit Storyhour. Two-Spirit Elder L Frank (Tongva/Ajachmem/Rarámuri) will lead an opening blessing, and Ruth Villasenor (Chiricahua Apache/Mexican) will be sharing a Two-Spirit story. Drag Queen Landa Lakes (Chickasaw) will then read 47,000 Beads by local authors Angel and Koja Adeyoha (Eastern band of Cherokee and Lakota), who will talk about their experience writing the book. A limited number of copies of the book, 47,000 Beads, will be distributed to children who attend.
Two-Spirit Storyhour will be Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 2:30pm-3:30pm in the Meeting Room of the SFPL North Beach Branch.
Join the library's month long celebration honoring the voices of indigenous and native peoples First Person: Honoring Native and Indigenous Cultures. Check sfpl.org/FirstPerson for the full schedule.
