Part of the Communication and Connection series.
I feel joyful as I think about offering the following introductory, interactive workshop:
Communicating with Heart and Courage: Developing an Anti-Racist Inner Practice (an integrative approach to Nonviolent Communication, Critical Race Theory, and Anti-Racist & Anti-Oppression frameworks)
Over the past twenty years, I have focused my career on working with individuals (professionally and personally) and within organizations on the development of: the skill set and application of emotional intelligence; the critical awareness and historical knowledge that informs an anti-racist practice; and on a self compassion practice. With this approach, individuals build the capacity to persevere in the exploration of their own societal conditioning, implicit bias, internalized racism and trauma that surfaces through this transformative inner work. I am passionate about dismantling systemic and structural racism in this country, and the systems change work that is necessary to accomplish this vision. We can start on this path, first within self, within our families, with others, within community, and eventually within organizations.
