VIRTUAL: Racial Justice Parenting Series: Liberation in LGBTQ+ Asian American Families | 5:00-6:30pm
Description
This workshop is meeting virtually during shelter-in-place, as part of our Coronavirus curtailment response.
Please register in advance to receive phone and video conference access information.
With racial slurs used to describe COVID-19 as "the Chinese virus" or "kung-flu," xenophobia impacts the Asian American community directly by not allowing people into spaces, and denying resources due to the stigma of the virus. Join us for a conversation around racial justice parenting by diving into discussion led by our amazing facilitator John Jimenez, M.A. (He/Him)!
John is a gay, Filipino, immigrant born in the Philippines and raised in San Diego, California. He recently graduated from New York University with a Master's degree in Higher Education & Student Affairs, and has the honor of calling San Francisco State University as his alma mater. John aspires to invite conversations around mental health, social justice, and community healing to support marginalized communities and encourage solidarity work.
